For every age

A Healthy Beauty Lifestyle begins now

Sleep is a restorative time for our bodies to cleanse, repair, and rejuvenate. Nighttime is the right time to show your hair and skin some love.

Just the facts

20 Something
HAIR:  Hair should be at its healthiest in our 20s.  Yo-yo, fad dieting and birth control pills can wreak havoc on hair. For hair to be healthy it needs nourishment or it won't have that radiant, healthy glow.

SKIN:  Skin is at its peak of beauty in your twenties. Nurture its beauty and always use at least an SPF 30 sunscreen and extra moisture protection at night. Of course, the Satin Hydration Therapy® pillow case should be a part of your beauty lifestyle.

In Our 30s
HAIR:  Pregnancy is a common life event at this age. Hair follicles are usually signaled to grow - resulting in luxurious, radiant-looking hair. However, in the six months following delivery, hair sheds. Adopt fool-proof tools like the
Satin Hydration Therapy® pillow case to slow down hair loss.

SKIN:  Skin is beginning to become a bit drier and sun damage may begin to appear. Start using thicker moisturizing creams and the Satin Hydration Therapy® pillow case to lock in high contents of moisture. Hint: Put your moisturizer on over damp skin.

In Our 40s

HAIR:  Women are more likely to color hair as a way to camouflage gray. Hair dyeing is damaging no matter what color or kind of hair dye you use. Recommendation: Nourish with protective products like the Satin Hydration Therapy® pillow case.

In addition, women in their 40s usually enter the periomenopause period. As estrogen levels start to fall, women may notice that hair is thinning and doesn't grow as quickly.

SKIN:  It's time to kick it up another notch. Your forties are when your skin loses much of it tightness. It may begin to look dull, pores may become larger and blotches, age spots, discoloration, and changes in skin color may become much more visible.  Tip: Adopt a healthier beauty lifestyle with the Satin Hydration Therapy® beauty pillow case.

In Our 50s and Beyond
HAIR:  Hair growth naturally slows down and it’s wise to shorten the amount of time you leave on styling products - such as hair dyes or permanent wave solutions — because thinner hair shafts require less time to process. Hairsprays also tend to make hair brittle. Use a good protein conditioner and avoid over-brushing hair.

SKIN:  Changes in your skin have reached high gear. Menopause has assisted in the loss of Estrogen which is what has given your skin its elasticity and kept it hydrated.

Additional hair care tips:

Keratin Complex and Brazilian Hair Straightening Treatments: Keeping hair free from contact within the first 72 hours after treatment is crucial. Cotton pillow cases are likely to ruin that $200 treatment because they naturally absorb anything moist or damp. The Satin Hydration Therapy® line is ANTI-ABSORBENT, doesn’t cause friction between hair and pillow case and works like a charm to protect your investment.

Overprocessing: Coloring, bleaching, perming and straightening, if done improperly, can cause hair to break off or fall out, and you'll have to wait for healthy hair to grow back in. Frequent relaxing using a hot comb can cause permanent hair loss.

Traction: Tight ponytails or braids, weaves and extensions, heavy beads and too-tight curlers can all result in hair loss, particularly around the forehead. Fortunately, once you loosen up, your hair should grow right back.

Clogged follicles: This is uncommon, but it can happen if you use a lot of very heavy, greasy products on your scalp and don't wash them off frequently. If you use a clarifying shampoo occasionally and cut back on the conditioners, you'll be fine.
